The Design and Specification Engineer for yacht components and parts – D&C2 – works in the technical departments of shipyards to design, draw and plan installations, fittings and the assembly of the vessel’s parts and components, ensuring consistency with the overall design and collaborating on the definition of the technical specifications required during the production phases. Furthermore, they develop design and refit plans for the refurbishment of large yachts, covering both hull components and on-board systems. They use the latest 3D design software and are proficient in prototyping and simulation technologies. This is a key role within shipyards and design studios; they are able to liaise with national and international clients and build a strong network of relationships essential to the project’s development.
