The assembly of the Viareggio-based ISYL Foundation, the ITS Academy of Logistics and Sustainable Mobility, was held on Friday 31 January to appoint the new Board of Directors capable of representing the main functions that guarantee the development of ISYL’s strategic activities.
The shipyards and companies of the Tuscan district, with Navigo as leader, represent the point of reference for the training of higher technicians trained by teachers in the sector, and to these must be added the role of the local schools for the strong link in the orientation activities of young people towards the professions of the sea. In addition, every year the Foundation develops a local network system with the active support of the provincial authorities on the coast.
The main points of orientation towards innovation on the one hand, and the increasingly necessary development towards the logistics sector on the other, called for two specific roles in the new CDA. The framework thus represented by the incumbent president Ing. Vincenzo Poerio was discussed and approved by the members present at the meeting, who reconfirmed Poerio as the representative of the shipyards, and Pietro Angelini director of Navigo as the representative of the district companies. The schools accepted the nomination of Gualco Del Pino nominated in turn by the DS of the Viareggio Nautical Institute. For the Province of Lucca, President Pierucci nominated Rossano De Servi and Arianna Buti as representatives of the Province of Pisa. Iacopo Cavallini of UniPi was nominated to represent the research centres and universities. The ADSP of Livorno was nominated and accepted to represent the logistics and shipping sector. All Board members nominated and presented accepted the position.
